Department: ICE | PERIOP QUALITY & ADMINISTRATION Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties: The Instrument Tech I will be responsible for Decontamination; dis-assemble, clean (by hand and/or machine), Will also assembly and package, instrument inspection and testing, re-assembly of sets, place in proper containers or wrapping sets and loads and transports loaded transport carts with prepared sets. Maintains record of loads and items being removed from department for processing and prepares proper storage of instruments and equipment. The Tech will use and test sterilizing equipment; perform dart and biological tests for autoclaves; perform diagnostic and biological tests for Steris sterilizer. Records and accurately interprets results of tests; assist OR staff; helps locate needed supplies and equipment. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School, GED or formal educational equivalent. Preferred Qualifications: One year experience as an Instrument Tech or recent certification as an Instrument Tech.
