Job Overview As the Director - Transcription Services, you will be responsible for defining, building, and driving the quality enablement practice to enable automated end-to-end and contract testing across GEICO's core insurance platform and other capabilities within the technology organization. You will leverage your expertise in transcription services, quality assurance, and leadership to drive process improvements, productivity gains, and innovation. Key Responsibilities Manage customer relationships for functional areas, ensuring business plan items and operational support align with business objectives. Direct the effective operations of a functional work processing area, driving process improvements and productivity gains. Provide management and technical guidance to systems and programming activities within the section. Oversee the planning, development, scheduling, and maintenance of specific systems and projects. Investigate interruptions to functional areas of existing computer systems and implement solutions. Hire, terminate, promote, and transfer associates within the section, and evaluate staff performance. Review and approve section salary budgets, manpower requirements, and other qualitative planning. Craft, communicate, and execute a vision and mission for the team, building and sustaining relationships across teams and divisions. Negotiate with external vendors to secure best prices and access to required tools and resources. Work with leadership to address project dependencies, negotiate delivery dates, and deliver projects on time. Identify and mitigate project risks, presenting detailed and implementable solutions or alternatives. Report on team progress, presenting detailed and implementable ideas for areas to improve or influence. Cultivate a culture that motivates team members to achieve higher levels of performance. Execute change management processes and best practices, adapting approaches as necessary. Build and maintain relationships with team members to foster an environment of trust. Influence team members to be receptive to feedback, cultivating a culture that acknowledges and expects growth and accountability. Essential Qualifications 10+ years of experience in IT Project Management or leadership. Completion or active pursuit of GEICO core education requirements for management. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Experience with capture/recognition software (Datacap, Textract, Kofax Capture, Laserfiche). Experience with Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Experience with AI modeling. Proven success implementing large-scale projects across multiple disciplines. Reputation for effective team engagement and career counseling. Deep understanding of multiple business domains and application ecosystems. Preferred Qualifications Experience with transcription services and quality assurance. Knowledge of insurance industry technology and trends. Certifications in IT Project Management or related fields. Skills and Competencies Effective decision-making and sound judgment. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits GEICO offers a competitive salary range of $130,000 - $300,500, depending on experience and qualifications.
