Job Overview The successful candidate will support multiple data science decision groups for gadget buddy products, using econometrics and science-driven decision making to drive business growth. You will work closely with leaders to improve end-user experience and make the Association System more data-driven. Additionally, you will collaborate with applied researchers, economists, and software developers to provide feedback on partner issues and inform business solutions. As a key member of the team, you will own projects to drive progress on Choice Science and contribute to the development of tools for internal and external cross-functional partners. Key Responsibilities Support multiple data science decision groups for gadget buddy products, using econometrics and science-driven decision making Work closely with leaders to improve end-user experience and make the Association System more data-driven Collaborate with applied researchers, economists, and software developers to provide feedback on partner issues and inform business solutions Own projects to drive progress on Choice Science and contribute to the development of tools for internal and external cross-functional partners Apply theoretical models in an applied environment to drive business growth and improve customer experience Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 3+ years of experience as a data scientist, with a strong background in data analysis and statistical modeling 3+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/numerical programming (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) 3+ years of experience with machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that influence their performance Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment 3+ years of experience in a partner or customer-facing professional or scientist role, with experience in business organization Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language Experience in a machine learning or data scientist role with a large technology company Experience creating experimental and statistical designs for data modeling processes, using solid baselines, and ability to determine cause-and-effect relationships accurately Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply theoretical models in an applied environment Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong business acumen, with the ability to drive business growth and improve customer experience Experience with data analysis and statistical modeling, with the ability to apply machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to drive business growth Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Amazon, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career growth and development.
