About the Role As a Student Loan Advisor, you will play a vital role in assisting student borrowers with their questions, providing detailed information, and resolving any emerging problems they may face. You will be the primary point of contact for our customers, and your goal will be to deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring that every interaction is personalized, professional, and positive. Key Responsibilities Take incoming calls, use chat, and complete outbound calls as necessary to assist customers with their queries Provide detailed information and answer frequent questions about student loan products and services Process applications and resolve any emerging problems that customer accounts may face with accuracy and efficiency Practice active listening, be empathetic, and communicate clearly with customers in a positive and professional manner Utilize standard technology such as a telephone, email, and web browser to navigate to pre-scripted responses and provide basic general and claims-specific information Follow established and documented policies and standard operating procedures, including working within various systems, timekeeping, and documentation of calls Assist callers with filling out their applications and submitting them electronically to plan providers for processing Complete basic call logs, documentation, and related call details for each phone inquiry Essential Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required Must be able to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently Must be able to type a minimum of 35 words per minute (WPM) Experience working with a personal computer and the Windows operating system is required Must be able to navigate various systems and browsers Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills sufficient to communicate and interact effectively with customers and co-workers Excellent communication etiquette and ability to work effectively within established key performance indicators/metrics Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in customer service or a related field is an asset Knowledge of student loan products and services is desirable Experience working in a remote or virtual environment is an advantage Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity and quality standards Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At North End Teleservices, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
