Learn more about what we do at: https://www.psiexams.com/About the RoleThe Application Support Specialist role for PSI’s product team provides support to monitor and maintain the efficacy of our software applications. The person in this role forms an important part of the groups who provide 24/7 support coverage during day-to-day operations across PSI. This is a full-time permanent role, with availability needed during office and test center operating hours. This could include evening and weekend work as required. The person in this role reports to the Application Support Manager, in the Implementations and Quality group. Role Responsibilities• Provide software application support under the supervision of the Application Support Manager.• Perform analyses on software application functionality and suggest improvements as they arise.• Test and proactively monitor applications for compatibility and malfunction.• Establish root causes of application errors and field escalations, e.g. to Tier 2 support as required.• Triage issues raised in ticketing system• Ensure effective front- and back-end functionality of applications.• Test drivers and software and how they interact with our operating systems.• Conduct frequent support assignments as required, e.g. site installations, data retrieval and data entry into tracking sheets.• Create and maintain technical and problem/resolution documentation e.g. of configuration changes and scheduling application updates. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements• Education to Bachelor’s degree level in relevant field, e.g. computer science, software engineering, information technology etc.• Knowledge of front-end and back-end programming languages, e.g. C++, JavaScript, Python etc.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, notably Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.• Experience of working in Tier 1 / 2 tech support is desirable.• Project management and tracking experience is desirable.
