As a Consultant, you'll play a critical role in helping our clients achieve their safety goals and improve their overall culture. A Day in the Life and the Impact You'll Make As a Consultant with DEKRA, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on our clients' businesses. Your primary objective will be to utilize organizational change knowledge to deliver results that our clients are seeking, become a trusted advisor, and expand the scope and breadth of existing client engagements. You'll work closely with clients to understand their objectives and needs, adapt our centerline model to meet their requirements, and deliver our suite of solutions with mastery of the concepts combined with industry subject matter expertise. Key Responsibilities Deliver workshops and presentations to groups of various sizes, conducting one-on-one or small group field coaching with clients, and performing client-related project management on smaller to larger and more complex projects. Understand the client's objectives and needs, adapting the centerline model for the client engagement to give the greatest probability of success. Establish effective safety governance that aligns with the client organizational structure and functioning, guiding and facilitating measurable governance. Coach client leaders from the frontlines to senior leaders, becoming their trusted advisor, and tracking progress in meeting client objectives. Develop a communication structure to reliably remain up to date on the client's situation, including safety performance, successes, business challenges, and industry trends. Practice honesty, being truthful with the client in a manner that preserves the relationship, even when it's hard to do so. Team Responsibilities Create excellent deliverables internally, meeting deadlines, and enabling and managing the success of the project team. Assure all solutions are integrated and aligned toward meeting client objectives, communicating routinely and effectively to the delivery team and the overall project team. Deliver performance-related feedback to individual consultants, including areas for improvement and recognition for positive contributions. Escalate project-related consultant success stories and guidance feedback to appropriate management levels. Business Responsibilities Maintain a complete and accurate project plan for the life of the project, including consultant scheduling to meet delivery needs. Meet goals of personally delivering billable hours, managing projects toward stated realization rate, and achieving monthly forecast accuracy. Expand the scope of client relationships and maintain long-term engagements by identifying additional areas of opportunity. Maintain a professional brand of credibility internally at DEKRA and externally within the marketplace. What You'll Bring To be successful in this role, you'll need: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. 8+ years of experience in organizational change, operations with safety responsibility, industrial consulting, or a safety role. Certifications/Licenses: CSP or equivalent, LEAN Green/Black Belt preferred. Presence in front of leaders, from first-line to senior manager. Demonstrated cognitive flexibility, ability to successfully navigate client ambiguity, and develop deep knowledge of DEKRA solutions. Ability to interpret the impact of non-safety processes on safety and culture, develop a strategic plan, and manage client excellence and DEKRA business. Fluency with various Governance structures, leading and lagging metrics, and applying effective change management. Fluency in Safety Management System best practices and ability to propose enhancements to close gaps. Physical and Travel Considerations This role requires: Ability to work in a variety of client locations, environments, and conditions. Must be able to accommodate working various shifts as client activities are scheduled. Must be able to withstand the rigors of extensive travel (estimated up to 75% domestic and/or potential for international travel). Ability to move and conduct work with full range of motion, lift 25-50lbs (luggage), and extended periods of computer-based work and standing.
