The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) Audit and Information Section is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and dynamic trainer to join our Audit Training Unit. Do you have a strong knowledge of the tax and fee laws, regulations, and policies, and have extensive experience in field audit procedures? Do you enjoy public speaking and traveling throughout the state? If so, the Business Tax and Fee Division's Audit Training Instructor position is a great job for you! The focus of this position will be developing, writing, and revising new and existing professional tax audit and tax law training courses, updating and creating training materials related to the technology used, and working on training related projects and assignments. The remainder of the time will be spent as an instructor in the classroom instructing law and audit classes at our headquarters and field offices. Candidates should have experience in teaching or public speaking and have strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidates must be well organized, innovative, and able to work both cooperatively on a team and independently. This position will require travel up to 50% of the time. The instructor in our Audit Training Unit is responsible for: • Independently conducting complex and sensitive tax and fee training courses. • Evaluating student performance. • Selecting and training volunteer training instructors. • Recommending re-training or additional training when appropriate. Code 18992, or • Are persons retired from the United States military honorably discharged from active duty with a service disability or honorably discharged from active duty as defined in Government Code 18991.
