The Open Connect Capacity Planning team is at the center of all efforts to ensure there’s always enough capacity so that our members consistently have a great entertainment experience. We provide long-range planning by developing proactive strategies that are future-compatible and nimble enough to change course quickly. Working with the engineering and finance teams, Capacity Planning’s main tasks include: 1) translating demand forecasts into concise, actionable capacity plans, 2) managing utilization by providing reports and dashboards to key stakeholders, and 3) providing data-driven analyses to continually optimize spend and ensure the platform is scalable far into the future. The team is hiring for a strategic leadership role: Director of Capacity Planning. What You Will Do: Develop and lead the Capacity Planning teamCollaborate with stakeholders in Engineering, Product, and Partnerships to develop capacity planning strategies that support growth and new product initiativesWork closely with Finance to define budgets and assess potential risksDevelop tools for modeling to inform the business and support decision-makingAnalyze short- and long-term trends to proactively identify needsCommunicate capacity requirements, risks, and trade-offs effectively across functions to ensure awareness and alignmentManage efficient utilization of resources and platform lifecycle managementDrive continual improvements in planning workflows, tools, and methodologiesTranslate forecasted demand from Finance into actionable capacity plansAnalyze and model data to enhance operational efficiency as products and hardware architecture initiatives evolveCreate and manage yearly capacity plans for OCAs (Open Connect Appliances), data centers, network hardware, and IP backbone infrastructureProvide oversight and prioritization to ensure capacity arrives in a timely fashionManage reporting and dashboards for overall network utilization, and identify data needs required to improve reportingContinually work to refine workflows that enable the business to achieve alignment and efficiencyWho You Are: Passionate about data-driven solutionsWilling to experiment with different approaches to new and existing problem setsExperienced with data modeling and visualization software, and developing reports and dashboardsProficient in Excel, SQL, and Tableau (or other business intelligence software)Strong background in using financial analysis for multi-variable decision-makingExperienced in statistical analysis, specifically building and refining demand forecastsAble to independently identify issues, analyze potential solutions, and drive resolutionsStrong communicator, both verbal and written, with experience collaborating across the organization, including engineering, finance, and product managementBelieve that delivering results quickly, with iteration, is better than waiting for 100% perfectionHold expertise (or strong curiosity) in the internet ecosystemMBA or MS in Statistics preferredOur culture is unique, and we tend to live by our values, allowing you to do your best work and grow. Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not offer bonuses. Each year, you choose how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience.
