As a statistician within Aetna, a CVS Health company, you'll leverage your analytical prowess, business acumen, and understanding of human behavior to support the team in various activities, including risk assessment, rate filing, reserving analysis, data analysis, competitive intelligence, healthcare trend analysis, and tracking business results. Key Responsibilities Participate in four rotations that will immerse you in key business areas, providing exposure to: Risk Evaluation: Understand the nature of specific risks and present analysis results to management. Rate Filing: Classify and analyze filing data, then prepare and submit necessary presentations for regulatory filings. Reserving Analysis: Analyze claim data and monitor reserve levels for adequacy, demonstrating an understanding of actuarial reserving methodologies and issues. Pricing and Forecasting: Provide technical support and analysis for planning, pricing, and reporting processes. Valuation, Trend, and Product Design: Develop and recommend pricing and trend for products or services. Technical Expertise: Develop innovative technical solutions to various problems, showcasing proficiency with spreadsheets and knowledge of database and online applications. Create and implement suitable tools and models, and develop and resolve business requirements and/or specifications for processes, tools, and systems. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Willingness to relocate to a designated Actuarial hub Preferred Qualifications Internship or work experience supporting Actuarial functions within an organization or business area Demonstrated leadership experience, such as holding decision-making roles in student or social organization activities, or sports Strong written communication skills Proficiency with analytical or coding software, including SAS, Python, Excel, VBA, SQL, or R Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Supportive team player with a positive attitude to enhance team effectiveness Adaptable and able to quickly adjust to change Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits The Actuarial Improvement Program is designed to accelerate your career growth and provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the actuarial field.
