About the Role: Early Childhood Educator - Remote | WFH We are seeking passionate and experienced Early Childhood Educators to support our mission of providing exceptional care and support to infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities. As an Early Childhood Educator with our team, you will play a vital role in delivering a comprehensive range of Early Childhood Special Educator and Service Coordination services, focusing on infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months old. These services, mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, are designed to support the unique needs of each child and family, emphasizing family-centered care and collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Coordinating services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, education, and counseling intervention for eligible infants and toddlers with disabilities, emphasizing family-centered care and support. Participating in various activities including child find initiatives, development and modification of Individualized Family Service Plans, consultation on integration into child care settings, evaluation and instruction in the use of assistive technology devices, and family screenings to determine additional intervention needs. Assessing and modifying family and/or day care environments to enhance patient development, adapting intervention and treatment plans according to evolving patient and family needs, and participating in treatment planning, family conferences, and discharge planning sessions as required. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, educators, and family members, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each child and family. Providing education, support, and resources to families, empowering them to advocate for their child's needs and navigate the complex healthcare and education systems. Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need: Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited college or university. Certification: Current unrestricted state certification or licensure as an Early Childhood Educator or related field. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator within the last five (5) years, with a focus on infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities. US Citizenship and Active Clearance: Required for this position, due to the sensitive nature of the work and the clients we serve. Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Advanced Degree: A Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field, demonstrating a higher level of expertise and commitment to the field. Specialized Training: Completion of specialized training programs in early childhood development, special education, or a related field, such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) or occupational therapy (OT). Bilingual or Multilingual: Proficiency in multiple languages, enabling you to communicate effectively with diverse families and communities. Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and educators, both verbally and in writing. Emotional Intelligence and Empathy: A deep understanding of the emotional and psychological needs of infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities, and their families.
