As a Remote Clinic Phone Nurse in this department, you will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities Provide direct and indirect patient care through face-to-face visits and phone interactions, including patient education, medication management, follow-up care, outcome management, phone triage, and assessment of patient symptom-based inquiries. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, RNs, and other allied health care staff to deliver comprehensive care through a team approach. Utilize expert critical thinking, time management, and multi-tasking skills to function autonomously in an unpredictable environment. Support professional nursing practice across various settings and throughout the continuum of care to meet patient and family needs. Participate in leadership activities such as preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership positions, and quality improvement initiatives. Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability. Possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor and teach effectively. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have: A current RN license as per applicable state requirements. Graduation from a baccalaureate nursing program recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). For entry-level associate degree RNs, documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited program within the stipulated timeframe. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience working in a team environment. Computer skills, with prior experience in electronic medical record systems preferred. The ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, and on-call shifts. Preferred qualifications include: One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic. Direct patient care experience within the last 2 years. Current ambulatory and/or phone triage experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) competency or certification, depending on the work area's requirements.
