About the position Responsibilities • Transcribe a wide variety of medical/clinical documents and reports for professional staff using digital dictation and word processing equipment. • Proofread and review documents for completeness, format, terminology, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and clarity of expression. • Transcribe rough drafts into accurate forensic evaluations. • Verify transcriptions are complete and notify staff of any deficiencies in paperwork. • Provide customer service for inquiries regarding the status of OFMHS orders and referrals. • Serve as the primary contact with community partners and service providers. • Perform related duties as required. Requirements • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • 1 year of occupational level medical transcription experience utilizing terminology of multiple body systems or in a multi-specialty department. • Advanced computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and digital dictation equipment. • Knowledge and adherence to Federal (HIPAA) and state confidentiality laws. • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet mandatory timelines. • Ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively with management, peers, patients, and the public. • Ability to complete tasks accurately, timely, and thoroughly with minimal supervision. • Keyboarding or typing accurately. Nice-to-haves • Completion of a two-year college or vocational medical secretary program or accredited medical transcriptionist program. Benefits • Full-time position with a monthly salary range of $3,239 - $4,299. • Remote work opportunity with occasional in-person meetings. • Initial training provided upon hire.
