CMK Select, a specialized project management consulting firm dedicated exclusively to the Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences industry is hiring an AI Usage Research & Enablement Consultant / AI Adoption Insights Consultant for a Part-Time engagement (20 hours per week for ~13 weeks with the potential to expand to 26 weeks) in support of our Pharma client's adoption around AI in their day to day activities. As AI increases it's presence in day-to-day workflows, adoption rates vary based on user ability, awareness of how to apply the tool, and sometimes even reservations about it's use. Our client is looking at how to best leverage the robustness of the tool to make work within their team better. By identifying best practices already in use, with an eye on compliance within the Pharma landscape, our customer wants their team to embrace the tool to enhance productivity and their position in the marketplace. Role Summary: CMK Select is hiring a fully remote, part-time consultant (20 hrs/week for ~13 weeks with potential to expand to 26 weeks) to: 1) interview a ~30-person team about their use of an internal AI tool 2) identify “Expert” users and what’s working 3) produce a Final Report + Executive Presentation with practical recommendations on ways of working. This is a people-and-communication role that will involve planning and conducting interviews, synthesizing themes, writing clear best-practice entries, and presenting findings to leadership. Although no heavy data engineering or model work will be the ideal candidate will need to have prior project experience working with AI adoption or digital ways-of-working in large enterprises. What you will deliver: • Interview Kit (questions, consent/privacy notes, simple scoring guide). • Interview Completion Log (aim for all 30; minimum 24 if calendars slip). • 'Expert User' roster (who they are, strengths, suggested “champion” roles). • Best Practices Compendium (v1): 8–12 short, practical entries (when to use, how to do, examples, do/don’t). • Findings & Recommendations Report (15–20 pages): current usage patterns, maturity segments, barriers, opportunity areas, and recommended ways of working. • Executive Presentation (8–10 slides) and a simple “who owns what next” table. • Weekly status updates (2 hrs/week) and tidy hand-off/archive. Key Responsibilities: • Plan & schedule interviews; conduct ~8–10 interviews/week (30–40 mins each) with strong note-taking and respectful facilitation. • Qualitative synthesis: turn notes into themes and clear, evidence-based insights. • Identify and profile “Expert” users using a simple rubric (breadth of use, quality, outcomes, safety, teach-ability). • Write plain-language best practices (short checklists/templates and examples) that the broader team can apply immediately. • Author a clear report and present to executives—concise story, practical actions, and owners. • Light coordination with the project sponsor; keep risks, decisions, and expectations visible. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years in consulting, user research, qualitative analysis, change/adoption, or similar client-facing roles. • Proven track record running structured interviews and producing clear, actionable write-ups. • Excellent business writing and executive storytelling; can turn interviews into a crisp narrative and slides. • Experience documenting ways of working / playbooks / SOPs (short, usable checklists). • AI Literacy (plain language): understands what modern AI assistants can/can’t do; familiar with safe usage, verification, and basic prompt hygiene. • Strong stakeholder management; comfortable working remote, on a 20-hr/week cadence, with weekly status. Nice-to-Haves: • Prior experience using Agile project management principles. • Life sciences / healthcare experience (understanding of privacy & compliance basics). • Light familiarity with simple metrics (e.g., “weekly active users”), but no analytics build required. Success Measures (first ~13 weeks): • ≥24 interviews completed with scored notes. • 8–12 best practices published that the team confirms are useful. • Clear Expert Roster with recommended champion roles. • Final Report + Executive Deck delivered on time, with actionable next-90-day recommendations and owners. • Positive sponsor feedback on clarity and practicality of outputs.
