Introduction to Workwarp and the Professional Development Program Workwarp, in collaboration with the University at Albany's Rockefeller College, is seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented Education Specialist to join the Professional Development Program (PDP) within the Department of Child Welfare Training. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, instructor-led training programs to state staff, caseworkers, and supervisors of local Departments of Social Service and voluntary agencies. This 100% remote position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families across New York State, with regular travel throughout the state to deliver trainings and attend meetings. Job Summary and Key Responsibilities Under the direction of the program manager or designee, the Education Specialist will be responsible for delivering continuing professional education programming to support effective casework practices. Key duties include: Delivering training on project topics, such as FASP, Progress Notes, and other documentation-related special topics, to state staff, caseworkers, and supervisors of local Departments of Social Service and voluntary agencies Assisting in the review and development of curriculum materials to ensure quality and conformance with project objectives Conducting training needs assessments and interpreting/using training evaluation data to inform training delivery plans Maintaining complete records of training programs, content, activities, and evaluations in accordance with procedures, as well as preparing routine reports Essential Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess: A Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education, or an internationally recognized accrediting institution A minimum of one year of experience in workforce training and training-related experience A minimum of two years' experience in a local social services district or agency providing child welfare services Knowledge of recent federal and New York State child welfare initiatives Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, handle multiple priorities, and work under pressure Excellent writing, speaking, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated proficiency in computer use, specifically Microsoft products Ability to travel regularly throughout New York State to deliver trainings and attend meetings, including travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation, and the ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable: A Master's degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in Human Services or a related field Additional experience working in the child welfare field and/or providing supervision in child welfare services Experience in curriculum development Familiarity with CONNECTIONS Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As an Education Specialist with Workwarp and the Professional Development Program, you will have access to a range of career growth opportunities and learning benefits, including: Professional development and training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in child welfare and training delivery Opportunities for advancement within the organization A collaborative and supportive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion Access to a range of resources and tools to support your work, including cutting-edge technology and innovative training methods Work Environment and Company Culture At Workwarp and the Professional Development Program, we are committed to creating a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
