Job Highlights and Overview This Senior Data Engineer position offers a unique chance to work on exciting projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement ETL/ELT data pipelines, database mapping, and batch processes using Apache Airflow. As a key member of the Information Designing group within Disney's Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies, including SQL, Python, Docker, Gitlab, Airflow, Snowflake, Looker, and PostgreSQL. Your expertise will be essential in driving the company's data-driven decision-making processes, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of its data assets, and contributing to the development of innovative data solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and execute ETL/ELT data pipelines to support various projects and initiatives Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements, validate data, and ensure data quality Develop and implement database schema, tables, and views to support business needs Build and manage batch processes using Apache Airflow Work with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar Participate in driving best practices around data engineering and software development processes Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless deployment across multiple environments, including DEV, QA/UAT, and PROD Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field At least 2 years of experience in a Data Engineering role Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database design and development Experience with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS and S3 Proficiency in Python and experience with data processing and analysis Experience with Gitlab/Github and Docker Strong understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable: A Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Experience with Apache Airflow, Databricks, and Snowflake Experience working in the streaming, media, or digital advertising industry Strong understanding of data architecture and data governance principles Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Disney, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
