About the Role We're seeking an exceptional Field Training Manager to join our expanding team in Canada. As a key member of our Sales organization, you'll play a pivotal role in driving success by identifying training needs, developing effective training modules, and providing coaching and feedback to our sales team. Job Profile Title: Manager, Field Training Business Title: Manager, Field Training Department: Sales, Canada FLSA Status: Grade 8 Position Overview The Field Training Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales to identify training needs for the Canadian Insulet sales organization. This role requires a strong understanding of sales processes, strategies, and metrics, as well as excellent leadership, coaching, and development skills. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and collaboration, and be able to work effectively cross-functionally. Responsibilities This position will work with the Director of Sales to identify training needs for the Canadian Insulet sales organization. Engage internal and external experts to develop training modules and needed training content required to effectively increase the knowledge and demonstrated capabilities of the intended audience. Improve the skills and performance of the sales team by offering training, support, and feedback. Work closely with the sales and clinical teams, as well as with the cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, helping teams set performance goals, and ensuring the team hits their targets. Conduct regular coaching sessions with individual sales team members to assess performance and provide tailored support. Work with the Director of Sales, Field Management, Marketing, and International Sales and Marketing Excellence organization to develop and deliver appropriate workshops at Sales meetings. Provide effective initial training for new employees in addition to providing ongoing selling skills training for existing field teams. Prepare and deliver coaching feedback in person and by utilizing field coaching reports. Assist new and experienced sales and clinical team members with developing and enhancing their clinical, product, customer knowledge, and selling strategies to increase field effectiveness. Build and maintain strong working relationships with the field sales team to effectively influence selling strategies. Conduct field co-travels and reviews to ensure adequate and consistent training and coaching is being done for all new and existing field employees. Prepare and deliver coaching feedback in person and by utilizing field coaching reports. Partner with Sales Director in developing new hire training curriculum for Commercial and Inside Sales Team new hires. Recommend and develop and implement annual training and development objectives and programs. Manage salesforce training portal reporting. Track and analyze sales metrics (i.e., quotas, conversion rates) to evaluate team performance. Identify performance gaps and provide actionable feedback. Key Decision Rights This role requires the ability to make informed decisions that impact the success of the sales team and the organization as a whole. The Field Training Manager will have the authority to: Develop and implement training programs and materials. Provide coaching and feedback to sales team members. Identify and address performance gaps. Recommend and implement changes to training and development objectives and programs. Required Leadership/Interpersonal Skills & Behaviors Work cooperatively with the Commercial team (Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Customer Care, and Reimbursement) to identify on-going training needs. Required Skills and Competencies Field Sales Training experience is required. Strong understanding of sales processes, strategies, and metrics. Proven track record of consistent performance in meeting or exceeding expectations. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, clinical selling knowledge, coaching, and development skills. The ideal candidate must foster a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Must be able to work effectively cross-functionally. Must have the ability and drive to take on multiple projects while balancing multiple priorities and critical deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to message and deliver constructive and motivational feedback to enhance performance and results. Excellent presentation skills and the ability to effectively engage participants in an in-person or virtual classroom setting. Ability to communicate at multiple levels of an organization. PC skills, word processing, spreadsheet, database. Ability to organize and judge priorities. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree. Minimum 8 years of experience in the field, including 5 years of Sales Training experience in the medical device or healthcare industry. Registered Dietitian (RD) and/or Certified Diabetes Educator credentials (CDE) an asset. Clinical expertise in the medical device or healthcare industry. Strong diabetes disease state and pump knowledge required. Experience in working with CRM systems and sales analytics tools. Internal Candidates – Field Sales Training experience is preferred. Additional Information The position can be remote, hybrid, or in-person at our Oakville, Canada office. Regular field visits are a requirement of this role. Travel will vary weekly based on business needs; travel is expected to be 50% on average.
