About the Role As a Director - Workflow and Orchestration, you will be responsible for defining, building, and driving our quality enablement practice. Your expertise will be crucial in enabling automated end-to-end and contract testing across our core insurance platform and other capabilities within GEICO tech. You will leverage appropriate open-source platforms to drive innovation and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Manage customer relationships for functional areas, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational support. Direct the effective operations of functional work processing areas, driving process improvements and productivity gains. Provide management and technical guidance to systems and programming activities, including off-hours support for outage events in Tier 1 Application areas. Ensure stable and reliable delivery of applications to production users within Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Plan, develop, schedule, and maintain specific systems and projects, and direct the programming, monitoring, and modification of specific programs through technical managers. Investigate interruptions to functional areas of existing computer systems and implement solutions. Oversee hiring, terminating, promoting, and transferring associates within the section, and evaluate staff performance. Review and approve section salary budgets, manpower requirements, and other qualitative planning. Craft, communicate, and execute a vision and mission for the team, building and sustaining relationships across teams and divisions. Negotiate with external vendors to secure the best tools and resources for project execution. Work with your Officer to address project dependencies, negotiate delivery dates, and ensure timely project completion. Identify and mitigate project risks, presenting detailed solutions and alternatives. Report on team progress and key metrics, and propose areas for improvement. Cultivate a culture that motivates team members to achieve higher levels of performance. Execute change management processes and best practices, adapting approaches as necessary. Build and maintain strong relationships with team members to foster an environment of trust. Coach team members to be receptive to feedback and cultivate a growth mindset. Identify technical or analytical skill gaps and develop plans to remediate them. Craft strategic and persuasive arguments to drive projects that enhance process improvement, cost leadership, and customer experience. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you must have: 10+ years of experience in IT Project Management or leadership. A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Completion or active pursuit of GEICO core education requirements for management. Proven success in implementing large-scale projects across multiple disciplines. A reputation for effective engagement with team members and a genuine interest in their career development. Deep understanding of multiple business domains and application ecosystems. Experience building and using workflow and orchestration platforms. Understanding of the nuances around buying vs. building such platforms. Experience working in hybrid environments (cloud and on-prem infrastructure) and automating across distributed systems. Knowledge of orchestration and integration in microservices and cloud-native architectures. Familiarity with Low Code / No Code and Robotic Process Automation landscapes and use cases. Experience with digital transformation and business process automation. DevOps and Agile delivery experience. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be considered advantageous: Experience in the insurance industry. Knowledge of specific workflow and orchestration technologies. Certifications in relevant technologies or management practices.
