LastPass is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (PHP):As a Senior PHP Engineer, you will collaborate with an Agile development team to build and enhance a product that serves over 5 million active users. You will take full ownership of critical features and continuously improve them to help secure the digital lives and workspaces of our customers. You will be responsible for:Developing and delivering high-quality, maintainable codeTaking full ownership throughout all stages of the development lifecycle - including planning, design, development, deployment, and maintenanceDebugging and troubleshooting issues to support and enhance the user experienceActively contributing to team discussions with an ownership mindset - leading conversations in meetings, adhering to and promoting coding standards and industry best practices, and continuously learning new techniquesProactively sharing knowledge, reviewing pull requests, discussing technical implementations, mentoring team members, and contributing ideas to improve the productIf you are passionate about complex problem solving and motivated by scale, then this is the role for you! You will collaborate closely with Agile teams focused on the development and maintenance of backend systemsYou will work alongside engineers, product managers, and designers to shape the future of the product by defining effective strategies for software verification, empowering the Scrum team to deliver high-quality solutionsYou will also engage with the support team to assess and prioritize incoming issues, helping to resolve customer problems swiftly and effectivelyWhat are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on? Participating in requirement analysis, high-level planning, and effort estimation to shape impactful featuresCollaborating with Product Owners and UX Designers to deliver user-centric solutions on timeAddressing complex non-functional requirements such as high availability, fault tolerance, and scalabilitySupporting Product Management in balancing cost and value - avoiding overengineering while preventing technical debtDesigning, developing, testing, and maintaining robust backend solutions within your team’s domainCoordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deliveryCreating and maintaining clear, concise internal technical documentationConducting and participating in code reviews to uphold code quality and share knowledgeContributing to community-driven decision-making, maintaining coding and design standards, and shaping the technical roadmapAdhering to and improving development processes and best practicesCoaching and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growthWhat does it take to work at LastPass? Proven experience developing web applications using PHPStrong understanding of web infrastructure, HTTP, and RESTful APIsSolid grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, including SOLID and Clean Code practicesHands-on experience with common design patterns in PHPKnowledge of secure coding practices to protect against XSS, SQL Injection, and other vulnerabilitiesBasic familiarity with Docker and web security conceptsStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishBackground in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceA collaborative team player with a proactive mindsetCreator and advocate of best practices in software developmentCapable of efficiently contributing to the completion of complex tasksAble to maintain a holistic view of the system while managing detailed tasksExcellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinkingSkilled at effectively transferring knowledge and mentoring othersIt's great, but not required:Previous experience with commerce systems and third-party payment providersFamiliarity with C# and .
