Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will contribute to the investigation of business, application, and technical system requirements. You will support the design, build, development, and integration of infrastructure expected to support the business portfolio or platform stage with regards to vigor, scalability, availability, and efficiency. You will also support initiatives that deliver serviceable end-to-end system solutions that adhere to Innovation standards. Key Responsibilities Plan, assign, and manage the efficient use of Functional Support resources for the duration of the development life cycle, across multiple development groups. Oversee break/fix, incident, and issue activities across the team. Manage Engineers as well as Implementation Testers in the local market group. Monitor, control, and report Functional Support consumption throughout the development life cycle. Act as the primary point of contact for business/development groups or vendors needing support in resolving issues. Coordinate Operations resources in the goal/prevention of issues where necessary. Prevention includes ensuring the proper performance monitors are set up for critical applications. Implement production validation practices. Work with the use of technical informed authority capability to optimize the design of technical solutions/upgrades. Aid in quality assessments by supporting quality rating measures on key changes. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the production and management support capability. Deliver ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) compliance process conformance for incident, issue, and change management. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 2+ years of engineering experience in a mainframe environment. Experience with the design and implementation of mainframe and distributed applications. 2+ years of experience with mainframe infrastructure, hardware, and operating systems. 2+ years of experience monitoring issues, change and incident lines, enforcing compliance with capability, root cause analysis, and change quality targets. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Past experience in a operations or support role. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills, including experience with mainframe infrastructure, hardware, and operating systems. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
