Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant performs a mixture of both clerical administrative medical assisting, as well as clinical medical office assisting in Primary and / or Specialty care settings. Responsibilities : Receives patients and their families and directs them to the appropriate place. Answers telephones promptly and politely. Schedules appointments Files pertinent information within patient's records Obtains insurance prior authorizations Inputs charges on patient accounts Verifies patient insurance upon registration Billing Obtains & documents vital signs on patients Acts as a chaperone for the provider when needed Obtains & document patient weights Assists physician with minor procedures such as suture removal Required Qualifications :High school graduate or equivalent & at least 6 months of clinical experience as a nursing assistant or related fieldPreferred Qualifications :MA experienceEKG experienceUnion : CSEA - Civil Service Employees Association (MH) Note : Not all per diem roles are union eligibleEducation : Licenses / Certifications :Physical Requirements : M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. Pay Range : $18.01 - $24.34 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
