Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Medical Transcriptionist and Reporting Specialist to join our team on a remote basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for transcribing raw pathology report information into a web-based reporting system, verifying patient demographics and client information, and editing reports for clarity and accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical transcription, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Transcription and Reporting: Enter raw pathology report information into a web-based reporting system to generate final pathology reports promptly and within strict time restraints. Data Verification: Verify patient demographics and client information for accuracy. Report Editing: Edit reports for clarity, but carefully avoid altering the meaning of the raw pathology diagnosis. Confidentiality: Maintain confidential information and handle sensitive data with discretion. Collaboration: Work closely with pathologists to resolve any missing information or clarify details. Additional Tasks: Perform other laboratory or administrative tasks as necessary to support the Reporting Department. Essential Qualifications and Skills Education and Experience Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred but not required. Experience: Minimum 3 years of previous medical transcription experience; previous Pathology transcription experience is a plus but not required. Skills and Competencies Attention to Detail: High standard of attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Communication: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work closely with pathologists, laboratory personnel, and office staff. Technical Skills: Competency with Microsoft Windows and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Suite software (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneDrive). Medical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy/physiology. Language Skills: Excellent command of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Typing Skills: Good finger dexterity and excellent typing skills. Visual Acuity: Good visual acuity to proofread reports with excellent attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Pathology Transcription: Previous experience with pathology transcription is preferred but not required.
