Key Responsibilities • Oversee a portfolio of Defense civil litigation cases • Draft, analyze, and revise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery materials • Advocate for clients in court proceedings, settlement negotiations, mediations, and trials • Counsel clients on legal exposure, potential liabilities, and strategic risk management Qualifications • JD and CA state bar in good standing • 5+ years of experience in civil litigation insurance defense • experience with Personal Injury defense • Auto on Auto, Catastrophic Injury, etc • Other Insurance Defense case experience including: CD, GL, Med Mal, Product/Premises Liability is a strong plus • Demonstrated success handling all phases of litigation, including trials (preferred) Benefits • UNLIMITED PTO • John Hancock 401(k) • 10+ PAID vacation days per year • FULL BENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Vision • Flexible Work schedule: REMOTE, Hybrid, OR In-Office (depends on candidate) • Base Salary is flexible, general range is $150-190k base Depending on Experience • + additional production bonus opportunity up to $45,000 per year (paid quarterly) • Possible Total Compensation Opportunity is generally approx ~$150-235k annually • Candidates must be based in California. • While we offer a flexible hybrid and remote work model, there are times when in-person attendance is required. • This includes trial preparation, depositions, court appearances, and other case-related activities. • Additionally, we hold mandatory attorney meetings twice a month that require on-site participation.
