Job Overview As a Registered Nurse on the Internal Staffing Team, you will be part of an inpatient travel team that rotates across care for individuals or families for whom the nurse is responsible. You will be fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered. The IST Registered Nurse will work on one of three clinical teams: Critical Care, Telemetry/Med Surg, or Emergency Medicine. Key Responsibilities Provides leadership in a professional practice setting and contributes to building the team by helping others succeed through role modeling and mentoring. Assigns or delegates tasks based on patient needs and the skill level of RNs, LPNs, or support staff. Considers maintenance of a safe environment, patient condition, complexity of interventions, and predictability of outcomes. Provides peers with verbal and written feedback regarding clinical practice and role performance. Shares knowledge and skills with peers and colleagues, promoting a culture of continuous learning. Participates on interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care or health services, promoting patient safety initiatives and department-specific quality initiatives. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement patient care plans according to individual needs. Analyzes patient health status, comparing data with norms to determine care needs. Assesses patient reports and records changes in condition, notifying physicians and/or supervisors and intervening accordingly. Demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning, seeking formal and independent learning activities to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills. Participates in systematic peer review, obtaining feedback from patients, peers, and colleagues to identify areas for professional development. Meets time and attendance guidelines, continuously evaluating and assessing patient and family satisfaction. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum Qualifications Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate CPR certification from the American Heart Association Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) Preferred Qualifications Minimum of two years of acute care hospital experience as a Registered Nurse in Critical Care Previous travel experience Experience providing care for multiple patient populations within a clinical area Certification in area of specialty 1 year of travel nursing experience What We Offer As a member of the AHN Internal Staffing Team, you will enjoy a premium rate and the opportunity to work in various clinical settings across multiple AHN hospitals.
