Position Summary An Effectual Principal Software Engineer designs, develops, and deploys cloud-based applications for our clients. You will collaborate with teams, including architects and project managers, to ensure the delivery of high-quality cloud solutions. You will report to the Sr. Director App Modernization Practice. Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Solution Design Provide technical support and innovative cloud solutions in alignment with business objectives by designing, architecting, maintaining, and operationalizing cloud-based web applications Design new software solutions for critical business needs and set architectural direction for projects Evaluate, test, design, develop, and integrate new cloud technologies and processes to support existing infrastructure and modernization efforts Serve as a technical lead on important projects and contribute to architectural norms for practice Lead large feature releases that cross team boundaries or require coordination with client teams Development & Implementation Design, implement, integrate, maintain, optimize, and administer cloud solutions, infrastructures, and platforms Independently responsible for the entire lifecycle of medium and large features from design through deployment Support and maintain existing software functionality; investigate, analyze and correct identified defects Improve maintainability and performance of existing software through application refactoring Build, deploy, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple stacks Perform pull requests/merge requests, branch management, and build deployments Collaboration & Documentation Engage with Effectual and client leadership to align approach with their needs Work alongside individual contributors to deliver software solutions for customers Review technical design documentation and participate in technical reviews Create proper documentation for software being built Identify and evangelize long-term technical direction for teams and projects Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, IS, or related field 7-10+ years of experience in Software Engineering AWS Certifications Required/Preferred: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner AWS Certified Developer Associate AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional Skills Required Advanced Skills: Software engineering and architectural skills with deep understanding of multiple software architecture patterns HTML5, CSS3 (preferably TailwindCSS V3+), React 18+ Intermediate to Advanced TypeScript Deep understanding of multiple programming languages: C#/. Net Core, Java, JQuery, UGS Deep understanding of frameworks such as Springboot and GraphQL Responsive Design expertise (Mobile Friendly UI) Kubernetes administration including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting Intermediate Skills: NodeJS, Webpack, Git REST and WebSocket Architectures Jest for Unit Testing Cloud architecture, cloud-native design, cloud computing, storage and database AWS compute, messaging/queueing, blob storage, and database technologies Command of IaC platforms (preferably CloudFormation) Oracle and MS SQL Databases Understanding of SDLC models, Application Lifecycle Management, data structures and algorithms Professional Skills: Excellent understanding of information security best practices and secure design Conflict management Ability to sell the value of investing in nonfunctional requirements/architectural attributes Collaboration with development teams to optimize application performance Company Offered Benefits Full-time employees are eligible to participate in our employee benefit programs: Medical, dental, and vision health insurances, Short term disability, long term disability and life insurances, 401k with Company match Paid time off (PTO) (120 hours PTO that accrue over one year) Paid time off for major holidays (14 days per year) These and any other employee benefit offerings are subject to management’s discretion and may change at any time.
