About the Opportunity This is an immediate opening for a highly skilled professional to support Delta Airlines' pilot training initiatives. As a Learning Designer II, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive training programs, working closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment with corporate safety and operational objectives. Your expertise in Instructional Systems Design (ISD) and adult learning theory will be invaluable in shaping the future of Delta's pilot training. Key Responsibilities Design and develop pilot training programs using ISD methodologies, ensuring effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Pilot Learning and Development to guarantee that training programs meet corporate safety and operational goals. Develop comprehensive reports, design documents, curriculum frameworks, implementation plans, instructor courseware, and administrative documentation. Analyze various data sources to determine training program effectiveness and efficiency, summarizing findings in formal reports. Support internal and external audits, continuous improvement initiatives, formal investigation projects, incident investigations, and validations to ensure alignment with approved curricula. Maintain formal documentation of government and corporate programs, an electronic Program Review Information Base (PADB), and a training recording/certification system. Create educational content, including instructor guides, schedules, and Learning Objectives Documents. Serve as a subject matter expert on adult learning theory, instructional methodologies, compliance requirements, and change management processes. Contribute to the development of new training concepts, methodologies, and guidelines using ISD principles. Assist in investigations to resolve complex issues requiring organizational, procedural, or policy decisions. Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you must possess: A high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. A degree in Education, Instructional Systems Design, Aviation, or equivalent work experience. Experience using ISD methodologies. At least three years of training-related work experience. Project management experience. Experience working with technical training subjects. Experience with compliance training. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to adapt to multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively in both a team environment and independently to meet project deadlines. Basic or intermediate skills with Microsoft Outlook and Word. Preferred Qualifications To stand out as a candidate, you should have: Business/Aircraft Transport Pilot, Flight Engineer, Certified Ground/Flight Instructor certifications or military equivalents. Experience designing, developing, or teaching flight-related subjects. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and related guidance material. Knowledge of the FAA Advanced Qualification Program (AQP). Experience with training system and compliance auditing. Experience with content management systems (CMS). Proficiency with Smartsheet. Essential to intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, or Project. Experience using Adobe Captivate.
