Work Schedule and Location: This position requires working Monday through Saturday with four 10-hour shifts from 5:45 AM to 3:45 PM at our Materials Recovery Facility in Simi Valley, CA. We prioritize stable hours for your financial security and work-life balance. Job Responsibilities: As an Entry-Level Heavy Equipment Operator at WM, you'll play a crucial role in our recycling facilities that service over 20 million customers nationwide. Your responsibilities will include: • Operating heavy equipment in strict compliance with safety policies • Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment • Accurately maintaining records related to equipment operation • Moving and positioning raw materials and finished components • Adhering to standard operating procedures for equipment handling • Performing additional tasks as needed Qualifications: To be considered for the position, you should have: • A minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment • Be over 18 years of age • Legal eligibility to work in the United States • The ability to fulfill physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodations • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination Who Thrives Here: We seek individuals who: • Able to work independently and thrive in team settings • Take responsibility for adhering to our safety guidelines • Communicate effectively and support colleagues • Possess problem-solving skills and excel with minimal supervision Work Environment: This position involves: frequent motor coordination and dexterity, occasional handling of objects weighing less than 30 pounds, and is mainly performed in a physical environment that may include dirt, odors, noise, and extreme weather conditions.
