The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Continuous Instructor, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Program to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in OHS courses, developing curriculum, and fostering a positive learning environment for students. Key Responsibilities As a Continuous Instructor, Occupational Health & Safety Program, your key responsibilities will include: Course Development and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive OHS courses that meet the needs of students and industry partners. Curriculum Development: Prepare and update course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and exams, to ensure relevance and effectiveness. Student Feedback and Support: Provide students with timely and constructive feedback, and submit marks/records promptly. Mentor and advise students on academic and career goals. Instructional Strategies: Utilize appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation and learning in a skill-building environment. Departmental Meetings and Collaboration: Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development, ensuring that courses remain current and relevant. Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and integrate relevant information into the curriculum, ensuring that students receive the most up-to-date knowledge and skills. Skills and Abilities To be successful in this role, you will require: Creative Course Delivery: An interest in creating and implementing creative modes of course delivery that engage students and promote learning. Leadership and Motivation: The ability to lead and motivate students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Organizational and Time Management: Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners. Student-Centered Approach: A strong orientation to student success and satisfaction, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Education: A Diploma in OHS or equivalent; a related Bachelor's or Master's degree in OHS or Education or related area would be an asset. Professional Certification: Professional certification (ROH/CIH/CRSP/CSP) designation. Practical Experience: Minimum 5 years of practical experience in occupational health & safety. Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level is an asset. Credential Evaluation: Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS). Remuneration and Benefits We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including: Salary Grid: $65,218.00 - $113,452.00 annually, with a starting salary for new hires averaging between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00 annually based on education and experience.
