Job Overview We're seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Elementary Math Tutor to join our team in Chattanooga, TN. As an Elementary Math Tutor, you'll work with students in grades K-5 to provide personalized math instruction, homework help, and test preparation. Your goal will be to help students build a strong foundation in math, overcome challenges, and develop a positive attitude towards learning. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one math tutoring to elementary students in the Chattanooga area, including Signal Mountain and Hixson Develop and implement personalized lesson plans to meet the unique needs and goals of each student Deliver high-quality instruction in basic elementary math skills, including numeracy, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Assist students with homework preparation, test anxiety strategies, and study skills development Communicate effectively with students, parents, and our office team to ensure seamless delivery of services Submit session reports within 24 hours of each tutoring session to track student progress and identify areas for improvement Balance tutoring hours effectively to meet the needs of multiple students and families Stay organized, manage your schedule, and maintain accurate records Essential Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in education, preferably in teaching or tutoring elementary math Strong knowledge of elementary math curriculum and standards Experience working with students of varying skill levels and learning styles Credentialed tutors and/or graduate degrees are a plus, but not required Basic database/data entry skills and ability to prepare lesson plans Reliable transportation with current car insurance and access to a computer, internet, and smartphone Preferred Qualifications Experience with tutoring or teaching specialized education fields, such as special needs or English language learners Strong administration skills, including record-keeping and communication Excellent typing, PC, and recording skills Ability to adapt to different learning styles and personalities Skills and Competencies To succeed as an Elementary Math Tutor with our organization, you'll need to possess: Strong math knowledge and instructional skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and our office team Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude Strong organizational and time management skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a valued member of our tutor roster, you'll have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
