Position OverviewWe are seeking an accomplished Senior Account-Based PR Specialist to lead strategic communication efforts exclusively for our existing B2B customers in the pharma and biotech sectors. This role focuses on leveraging Account-Based PR tactics to enhance customer satisfaction and trust during the delivery of our eClinical software and services. Unlike traditional public relations, marketing communications, or account management, this role is dedicated to crafting tailored positioning and engagement strategies that ensure clients view our complex service delivery as successful, reinforcing long-term partnerships in a high-stakes environment. Key Responsibilities • Develop Tailored PR Strategies: Create and execute customized Account-Based PR campaigns for specific customer accounts, ensuring clear, impactful communication that highlights successful service delivery and aligns with client priorities. • Guide Client Perception: Use strategic storytelling, progress reports, case studies, and thought leadership content to help clients understand and prioritize critical aspects of our eClinical software and services, mitigating the complexity and pressure of the service environment. • Build Client Trust and Advocacy: Foster deep, trust-based relationships with existing B2B customers through proactive, personalized engagement, positioning our company as a strategic partner in their success. • Collaborate with Customer Success Teams: Partner closely with customer success and account management teams to align PR efforts with customer expectations, ensuring seamless communication during service delivery. • Measure and Optimize Impact: Track qualitative and quantitative metrics (e.g., customer satisfaction, retention, and advocacy) to assess the effectiveness of Account-Based PR initiatives, refining strategies to maximize customer value perception. • Navigate High-Pressure Environments: Thrive in a fast-paced, complex service landscape, recognizing and addressing customer concerns with agility and ensuring consistent, positive communication under tight timelines. Qualifications • Experience: 7+ years in Public Relations, with at least 3 years specializing in Account-Based PR or similar customer-focused communication roles within B2B environments, preferably in pharma, biotech, or technology sectors. • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the pharma and biotech industries, including eClinical software and services, with the ability to translate complex technical delivery into compelling customer narratives. • Strategic Communication Skills: Proven ability to craft personalized, high-impact PR content (e.g., case studies, executive briefings, progress updates) tailored to specific customer accounts. • Relationship Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills to help operations teams build and maintain trust with senior customer stakeholders, distinct from general account management by focusing on strategic PR-driven engagement. • Differentiation from Other Roles: ◦ Unlike Marketing Communications: This role does not focus on broad market positioning, lead generation, or public-facing campaigns but on targeted PR for existing customers to enhance service delivery perception. ◦ Unlike Traditional Public Relations: This role excludes media outreach, press releases for public audiences, or corporate reputation management, concentrating solely on existing B2B customer relationships. ◦ Unlike Account Management: While collaborative with account managers, this role emphasizes strategic PR tactics (e.g., narrative development, customer-specific content) over operational account oversight or contract management. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications in PR or pharma/biotech preferred. • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, complex service environment, with strong problem-solving skills to address customer challenges through communication.
