Sinks Pharmacy is looking for a full time Remote Data Entry Pharmacy Technician to perform, under remote supervision and in accordance with state and federal regulations, various services for the pharmacy. Such functions may include data entry, provider/patient/third party outreach, claim adjudication, prior authorizations, etc. Ensures customer satisfaction by handling each customer in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner. Requirements include being a licensed pharmacy technician with a minimum of three years of pharmacy experience, and being licensed with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. 1. Follow company policies and procedures including register performance, security issues, and confidentiality. 2. Assist the pharmacist by receiving new written or electronic prescriptions or refill requests. Helps to verify that the following information is accurate and complete: date of birth, phone number, address, disease states, allergies, prescriber information, billing information, and the key components to a prescription. 3. Following the completion of proper training, receive new prescriptions from doctors’ offices. Gather the following information: patient name and DOB, medication name, strength, directions, refills, prescriber’s information, etc. Refers all doctor’s medical questions to the pharmacist. 4. Access, input, and retrieve patient and prescription information into and from the computer and successfully, efficiently, and accurately bills insurance and generates a label for the medications. Complete required documentation for CII orders. 5. Complete third party claims adjudication. Endure third party rejections are addressed in a timely manner and that all necessary provider and third party calls are made. 6. Have effective communication to all staff for data entry process, denied claims, daily progress etc. 7. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Develops courteous and professional relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers. 8. Work with pharmacist to ensure proper Medicare DMEPOS paperwork is complete, provide appropriate product to the customer, and maintain accurate billing records. 9. Ensures all controlled substance dispensing rules are followed (MMEs, PDMP, date of last fill) 10. Conducts patients, provider, and third party outreach calls as necessary 11. Assist stores in completion of MTMs and data collection 12. Assist RDOs to complete tasks as necessary for the Operations team 13. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Minimum of 3 years pharmacy technician experience • Extensive knowledge of Pioneer Rx is required • Missouri Board of Pharmacy licensed Pharmacy Technician • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills • Ability to be self-motivated. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills or the ability to use resources to resolve issues EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED; strong science background; knowledge of the metric system and good math skills; familiarity with pharmacy terminology, medication names and aseptic techniques desirable; current national pharmacy technician certification required. Minimum of 3 years of Retail Pharmacy Technician experience required. BOARD OF PHARMACY REGISTRATION Pharmacy technicians must be registered with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
