Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Media Systems Administrator to join our team of dynamic technologists at Walt Disney Animation Studios. As a Media Systems Administrator, you will provide technical support and services related to media and audio-visual (AV) systems, ensuring that our studio is equipped with the latest technology to produce world-class animation and films. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support for all media and AV systems in the studio, including conference rooms, 'Dailies'/digital review rooms, AV trucks, and other facilities Aid in the design of media and AV systems and spaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance Partner closely with Media teams at our Burbank and Vancouver studio locations to maintain a consistent artist experience across studio sites Offer Assistance Desk/Service Center-style support as needed, responding to inbound technical support requests, calls, and tickets from studio employees Resolve support issues from start to finish, ensuring prompt and effective solutions that meet the needs of our artists and technologists Collaborate with other technology teams on an as-needed basis to ensure that our systems and infrastructure are aligned with studio goals and objectives Install and support a wide range of software and hardware, including workstations, displays, tablets, and related peripherals Provide basic support for server and network equipment on an as-needed basis, working closely with our network and systems teams to ensure that our infrastructure is secure, reliable, and high-performing Work with studio leadership to continually improve technical support systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes that enhance the overall artist experience Help define how end-user support should be organized, delivered, standardized, and communicated, ensuring that our support services are responsive, effective, and user-friendly Create detailed documentation of processes and procedures, maintaining accurate records and knowledge bases that support our technical operations Maintain a flexible schedule, including possible evening or weekend work, to ensure that our systems and services are always available and performing at their best Essential Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience with media and AV technology, related technical/customer support, ideally in a production setting Solid experience with AV technology and trends, including familiarity with professional projectors, sound/video routing equipment, mixers, speakers, large displays, and other common AV equipment Proficiency with common video conferencing platforms, such as Zoom, Google Meet, and MS Teams, as well as hardware platforms like Cisco and Poly Working knowledge of Mac OS, iOS, and Windows operating systems, with experience with Linux desktop Familiarity with remote desktop technologies, such as HP Anywhere (Teradici) and HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS) Experience with ticket tracking, technical support tools, documentation platforms, and diagnostic systems Proficiency with productivity applications like OpenOffice, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace Ability to diagnose, repair, or replace computer system components (storage media/drives, graphics/GPU cards, memory modules, fans, etc.) Strong analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation, with the ability to communicate effectively with artists, technologists, and other stakeholders Highly self-motivated and able to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous and competing challenges Ability to lift heavy equipment, install, configure, and maintain desktop/computers and mobile devices Preferred Qualifications Experience designing and building complex AV systems, wire coordination, and other related technologies Experience programming control systems, such as Q-Sys, Crestron, or AMX Experience with professional secure streaming platforms like Sohonet or Evercast Solid knowledge of computer hardware and components, with A+ or equivalent systems administration certification Active experience with Linux administration Solid Mac/Windows system administration skills Experience with/preference for scripting/coding Experience with CG animation, VFX, or video game production environments and common pipelines Education and Compensation BS or BA degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Broadcast Arts, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience. The hiring range for this position in California is $85,300 - $114,400 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek. The actual salary offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic location, work-related experience, skills, and education, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position advertised.
