Role Overview As an Education Coach, you will be responsible for fostering excellence in teaching practices and ensuring positive outcomes for children. Key Responsibilities Conduct ongoing classroom observations and analyze data to assess teaching practices and children's progress, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for growth. Collaborate with program leadership to interpret data and determine focus areas for coaching and professional development, ensuring that our educators have the support they need to succeed. Develop coaching plans tailored to individual teachers, focusing on goals and measures of success, and providing regular feedback and support to ensure that our educators are equipped to deliver high-quality instruction. Provide constructive feedback and support to teachers through various coaching strategies, including observation and modeling, and facilitate professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge. Measure the effectiveness of coaching efforts and gather relevant data for analysis, using this information to inform our coaching practices and drive continuous improvement. Coordinate with administration to support staff training and continuous improvement efforts, ensuring that our organization remains at the forefront of best practices in early childhood education. Participate in agency committees and initiatives as required, contributing your expertise and perspective to drive our organization's mission forward. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that align with our organization's mission and values. We are seeking a candidate with: A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with a minimum of 30 hours of child development courses, demonstrating a deep understanding of the principles and practices of early childhood education. An Illinois Gateways (Level 5) Early Childhood Credential or the ability to obtain, ensuring that you are well-versed in the latest research and best practices in the field. 3-4 years of experience as an early childhood teacher, trainer, or coach, with a proven track record of driving positive outcomes for children and supporting the professional growth of educators. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner. Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, with a focus on adult learning and a commitment to supporting the professional growth and development of our educators. Knowledge of high-quality teaching practices and the ability to support their implementation, with a deep understanding of the principles and practices of early childhood education. Proficiency in data analysis and making recommendations based on findings, with the ability to use data to inform our coaching practices and drive continuous improvement. Interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with staff and solve problems collaboratively, with a commitment to building a positive and supportive team culture. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to leverage technology to support our coaching practices and drive efficiency. Preferred Qualifications While not required, we prefer candidates with: Experience working with diverse populations, with a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges of our students and their families. Head Start experience, with a knowledge of the principles and practices of Head Start and a commitment to supporting the unique needs of our students and their families. Bilingual (Spanish-English) skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with our students and their families and support their linguistic and cultural diversity.
