The SPACE org (Security, Privacy, Assurance, and Corporate Engineering) is launching a Compliance Engineering team to prepare Reddit’s platforms for evolving regulatory requirements. We’re building products that establish the foundation of trust in the Reddit platform, while partnering closely with teams across the company to ensure our platforms and features meet the highest standards. Engineers on this team will thrive in dynamic, ambiguous problem spaces and work across multiple domains and technology stacks. What You’ll Do:Shape the future of Reddit by adapting our platforms to an evolving privacy, security, and regulatory landscapePartner with product, design, and engineering teams across the company to build trusted, compliant experiences for millions of usersJoin a highly visible team where you’ll influence both technical and product strategy, and help define an entirely new product spaceOwn product areas and shape strategy end-to-end: from technical design and coding to testing, experimentation, analysis, and launchLead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that are critical to Reddit’s business and platform integrityRaise the bar for engineering by improving workflows, setting standards, and mentoring the next generation of engineersQualifications for this role: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated technical expertise5+ years of hands-on, professional software development experience developing user-facing Android mobile native applications at scale, using Java or Kotlin You are a strategic thinker who thrives on developing a long-term technical foundation and has a passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that improves people’s lives globally. A track record of leading large projects that require cross-team and cross-functional collaborationsExperience with modern Android development frameworks such as Jetpack Compose and Kotlin coroutines. Entrepreneurial spirit. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things and thrive in ambiguity and even failure.
