User & Access Management Engineering: Enabling Seamless User Experiences The User & Access Management Engineering team is a critical component of SPE, responsible for designing and building platforms that facilitate seamless user onboarding and access to Netflix content and studio ecosystems. As an Engineering Manager in this team, you will lead the development and innovation of our complex infrastructure while improving our overall security posture. Key Responsibilities Provide technical vision and strategy for building scalable platforms that meet the growing needs of Content & Studio. Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners, including product, engineering, design, data science, security, and stakeholders across time zones. Support and empower your team to understand priorities, drive down ambiguity, and bring focus to their work. Participate in architecture decisions for technology innovation and serve as a thought partner and sounding board for your team, stakeholders, and partners. Coach and lead a team of UI, backend, and full-stack engineers to execute a shared vision between engineering, product, and security partners. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within your team. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications Proven track record of building and leading high-performing, diverse teams. Extensive background and strong technical expertise in backend infrastructure and platforms. Solid knowledge of distributed systems architectures and understanding of the whole web stack: front-end, back-end, databases, and integrations. Well-versed in technical principles like cloud engineering, operational excellence, and balancing performance, efficiency, and reliability. Proven track record of taking innovative projects from concept to production. Inherently curious and enjoy leading through challenges, balancing short-term needs with long-term vision. Role model for integrity, transparency, and courage. At least 2 years of experience with hiring, leading engineering teams staffed with a range of experienced engineers and coaching through personal and professional growth. Preferred Qualifications Application security domain experience - awareness of AuthN and AuthZ constructs. Background working with Security Engineering or IAM foundational principles. Skills and Competencies Strong technical leadership and strategic thinking. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners. Coaching and mentoring skills. Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package, including: Salary range: $190,000 - $920,000.
