About the Role We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Support Specialist to fill a remote position as an Incident Response Consultant for the Public Sector. As a trusted advisor and technical expert, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including web developers and systems administrators, to deliver top-notch support and guidance to a diverse range of clients. Your ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to both technical and executive stakeholders will be crucial in driving client satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships. Key Responsibilities Conduct in-depth host forensics, network forensics, log analysis, and malware triage to support incident response investigations, utilizing tools like Mandiant to drive large-scale investigations and endpoint analysis. Develop and implement scripts, tools, and methodologies to enhance incident response processes, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of security incidents. Identify and codify attacker tools, tactics, and techniques, creating actionable intelligence that informs current and future investigations. Create comprehensive and accurate reports, training materials, and presentations tailored to technical and executive audiences, showcasing your ability to distill complex information into clear, concise insights. Collaborate with clients' security and IT operations teams to implement remediation plans, ensuring swift and effective incident response and minimizing downtime. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of three years of experience in investigation, community forensics, log analysis, malware triage analysis, disk, and memory forensics, with a focus on Linux, Unix, or other operating systems. Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Certifications in Cloud Platforms, such as Google Cloud Platform, demonstrating your expertise in cloud computing and willingness to stay ahead of the curve. Experience in cloud incident response or forensics, showcasing your ability to navigate the complexities of cloud security. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, concise documentation and present technical information to diverse audiences.
