Join Our Team as a Remote IBM Operational Support Analyst Workwarp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IBM Operational Support Analyst to join our team on a full-time, remote basis for 3rd shift (10 PM - 6 AM). As an IBM Operational Support Analyst, you will be working with Odyssey, a leading provider of IT services, to support a large enterprise migration project. This project involves building a team of 8-10 Operational Support Analysts to join on a six-month+ contract basis, with the possibility of long-term extension. Key Responsibilities As an IBM Operational Support Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to provide operational support for IBM iSeries systems, ensuring their smooth operation and resolving any issues that may arise. Your key responsibilities will include: Monitoring software usage to identify obsolete IBM licensed operating system and LPP software. Backing up all operating system and third-party system software libraries per established processes. Monitoring backup submission, startup, and processing to ensure successful completion. Responding to system alerts and critical errors using standard automation, monitoring, and incident management tools. Opening incident tickets in the ServiceNow ITSM tool when critical events are identified. Providing first-level support and analysis for system error and exception messages as detected by automation and system monitoring facilities. Escalating and following up on Hardware, Application, and Operating System errors, and exception messages as detected by automation following incident management processes. Providing first-level resolution and/or escalating incidents and request tickets generated by automation. Monitoring replication functions to ensure replicated objects remain synchronized between systems. Administering virtual tape management technology hardware and software. Providing automated message response to common messages that require a response. Performing system recycles (shutdown / IPL procedures) for Non-Production systems where appropriate as part of the backup process. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 3+ years of IBM iSeries operational or system administration experience. A strong understanding of IBM iSeries systems, including Power10, iSeries, and AS400. Experience with system monitoring, incident management, and automation tools. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently in a remote environment. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with ServiceNow ITSM tool. Knowledge of virtual tape management technology hardware and software. Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages. Previous experience working in a 24/7 support environment.
