As a Contract Education Writer, you will work closely with our editorial team to research, write, and discuss topics in education that matter to teachers. If you're a dynamic educator with a passion for writing and a knack for storytelling, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities: • Conduct thorough research on various topics in education, drawing from personal experiences and current events in classrooms, schools, and districts. • Write engaging articles, news posts, reviews, and features that cater to the needs and interests of teachers. • Uncover newsworthy stories and share unique perspectives on education topics, using evidence-based writing. • Collaborate with the editor-in-chief and news staff to generate content ideas and stay up-to-date on local, national, and international education affairs. Requirements: • Proven work experience as a certified teacher, principal, or counselor in grades PreK-16. • Excellent writing skills in English, with the ability to write honestly and thoughtfully about education topics. • Computer proficiency (MS Office, digital editing, web search, and databases). • Willingness to submit at least one article per week, with a commitment to meeting deadlines. • Good observation skills, with the ability to identify and write about 'hot button' topics in education.
