Position Summary:The Tele-Pulmonologist provides expert, real-time virtual pulmonary and critical care consultations for hospitalized and ICU patients through advanced telemedicine platforms. In close collaboration with on-site teams, you will help manage complex respiratory conditions, ensuring evidence-based interventions and continuity of care. As a vital member of the virtual care team, you will apply your clinical expertise to evaluate, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions, support ICU teams, and drive excellence in respiratory care. As a representative of Equum Medical, you will also foster strong partnerships with hospital teams and contribute to clinical innovation. Key Responsibilities:Provide tele-pulmonary consults for ICU, step-down, and inpatient medical unitsEvaluate and manage patients with complex respiratory and pulmonary issues, including ARDS, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, and ventilator managementGuide bedside teams on non-invasive and invasive ventilation strategiesCollaborate with ICU teams to support critical care management plansParticipate in virtual rounds, documentation, and clinical escalation processesLeverage EMR systems and remote monitoring tools to deliver timely, high-quality careSupport multidisciplinary clinical pathways and care protocolsRequirements:Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pulmonary DiseaseCritical Care Medicine Board certificationAbility to obtain and maintain multi-state licensure as requiredStrong clinical decision-making skills in high-acuity pulmonary and critical care settingsProficiency with EMR platforms and virtual communication toolsComfortable working independently in a remote environmentReliable high-speed internet and appropriate telework setupExcellent communication and collaborative skills with cross-functional care teamsKnowledge and Skills:Expertise in ventilator management, respiratory failure, and advanced pulmonary diagnosticsFamiliarity with tele-ICU platforms and remote monitoring technologiesStrong triage skills in high-volume consult environmentsExcellent clinical documentation and follow-up communicationCompetency in interpreting imaging and labs related to pulmonary diagnosticsDedication to evidence-based, patient-centered careEducation:MD or DO from an accredited medical schoolCompleted residency in Internal MedicineFellowship training in Pulmonary and/or Critical Care MedicineActive medical licensure or eligibility in applicable statesNotice Disclaimer: This job description outlines the general scope of the position.
