Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Product Quality Engineer to join our team, responsible for setting and managing the product's quality standards and metrics for Google's data center hardware infrastructure. As a Product Quality Engineer, you will lead product-related activities among internal engineering teams and external suppliers for the end-to-end product life cycle. This includes identifying and managing risks and communicating project goals to stakeholders. You will create procedures, tools, and processes to help continuously improve our products and production processes. You will analyze product field performance data from data centers, provide analysis, and actionable improvements to enhance product quality and reliability. Key Responsibilities Lead and control the product hardware quality for data center hardware infrastructure across the product life-cycle, including qualification through production test and data center deployment, life-cycle management and change management, additional service/production site, and line qualification, to ensure consistent quality meets Google standards. Provide technical leadership, set priorities, and drive decisions of complex technical problems for a strong product quality, and predictable field deployment. Analyze manufacturing and field quality/reliability data to extract actionable insights and areas of opportunity for continuous improvement. Drive, power, and implement innovative products, processes, and tools development/improvement projects in a cross-functional environment. Monitor, evaluate, and present product performance data and metrics to stakeholders in a concise and clear manner that enables data-driven decision-making. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in hardware engineering, including servers, computers, networking devices, consumer electronics, cars, or other commercial/commercial products. A strong understanding of product quality standards and metrics, as well as experience with data analysis and problem-solving. Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Desired Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: A Master's degree or Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of IPC requirements for PCBA (e.g., IPC-A-610), performing PCBA production line audits, and analysis tools including JMP, mini-tab. Fluency in Thai or Mandarin, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong database query (e.g., SQL) and data analytics skills for field data analysis, developing actionable insights from raw data.
