Key Responsibilities Transportation Operations Management: Coordinate and regulate all traffic functions related to freight movement throughout the facility, ensuring seamless operations and optimal use of carriers. Shipment Planning and Execution: Direct and administer the planning of inbound/outbound shipments to guarantee the most cost-effective use of carriers based on service parameters; communicate with operations to resolve any issues related to scheduling and dispatching. Carrier Management: Manage defined carriers that are providing services to the facility, including meeting with local carrier representatives to discuss basic transportation-related issues, monitoring carrier performance, and reviewing current practices versus potential improvements. Track and Trace: Create and execute a proactive track and trace process to ensure all shipments are delivered as soon as possible; provide track and trace information to the customer promptly. Progress Planning: Develop and implement progress plans to support a projected changing business model, moving from DC replenishment to POS delivery to the final end-customer clients; develop supporting possibilities to aid the entire supply chain. Team Leadership: Direct transportation associates to achieve assigned goals; create and maintain a functional staff by recruiting, training, and professional development; match the skill and background of associates to the work required. Fleet Management: Manage and control the facility truck fleet by selecting drivers, equipment, dispatching, and performing maintenance, achieving expected service levels and managing costs. Financial Management: Plan billings and process payments of freight bills; establish a financial audit for fleet operations to determine its cost-effectiveness. Data Reporting: Create and operate an effective transportation data reporting system; ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, delivery, and maintenance of every vital document and record regarding transportation activities. Business Development: Support business improvement sales and marketing endeavors on a case-by-case basis, including client presentations and directing the completion of transportation studies and analysis. Customer Support: Provide transportation backup and support to clients on a case-by-case basis; participate in client meetings; direct the recipients' appearance program, including the furnishing of specific feedback to our clients. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: Education: A four-year college education or comparable experience required. Experience: Experience in a related field, preferably in transportation or logistics. Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations required. Transportation Management: Experience with transportation management functionality required. Financial Management: Experience with financial management within an operations organization preferred.
