Job Summary The Food Service Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of hourly team members in the food service area of the store, ensuring that guests have a seamless and enjoyable experience. This role involves managing daily operations, driving sales growth, and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer service. As a Food Service Team Leader, you will be expected to work collaboratively with other team members, lead by example, and embody the Target brand values. Key Responsibilities Embrace sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly responsibilities to meet department and store sales objectives and guest engagement, including planning food service promotions, corrections, sales plans, inspecting, promotions, and price change responsibility Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs (this includes early morning, evening, overnight shifts, and weekends) Model guest service standards; delivering a fresh and full area during all opening hours, creating experts who share product knowledge with the guest Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience, modeling, training, and coaching expectations to deliver the service standard Evaluate Food Service back of house, production areas, dining spaces, and marketing spaces to ensure food safety and proper inventory levels Walk Food and Beverage Standards and Food Service schedules daily to assess needs and review responding to identify business gaps for follow-up Ensure proper execution on all sanitation standards and cleaning schedules Validate and follow up on team members' progress against department checklists and schedules Lead your team to maintain and uphold all Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards and production specifications (where applicable) Foster a productive relationship with your Starbucks DM (if applicable), attend scheduled in-store planning and meetings, and follow up on key takeaways from their time in your store Ensure accurate in-stocks by submitting store-initiated orders according to best practices Follow proper temporary inventory management techniques to ensure accurate recording of inventory Make production quantity decisions with perfect timing to ensure freshness, in-stocks, sales, and profit are achieved all day, every day Expect and encourage team members to stay up-to-date on relevant trends and products Assess and recommend candidates for open positions and develop a guest-driven team Lead team onboarding and mastering and close knowledge and skill gaps through training and experiences Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to expectations Complete all Starbucks or Pizza Hut training requirements and certifications Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; lead team to work similarly and hold others accountable to this responsibility Lead and create a safety advocacy culture by understanding what safety means for your role and that of your team, identifying and correcting hazards, and holding team members accountable to working in a safe manner to support themselves and others Show a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, demonstrating inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias Essential Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Must be at least 18 years old or older Past retail experience preferred, but not entirely necessary Strong interest and knowledge of the food service industry Lead and hold others accountable Learn and adapt to current technology needs Work independently and as part of a team Manage responsibility and prioritize tasks independently Welcoming and helpful attitude Effective communication skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Experience with inventory management and control Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Target, we are committed to helping our team members grow and develop their skills and careers.
