Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Entry and Risk Management Professional to join our Credit & Fraud Risk Finance group. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for delivering fact-based, decision-driven, and high-impact Net Loss Provision forecasts and credit-risk-related insights. You will be challenged with designing and developing deep analytics by leveraging advanced methodologies in forecasting approaches. This role involves conducting data analyses, modeling, synthesizing conclusions, communicating, and providing recommendations to key stakeholders and partners. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain complex data models to forecast credit risk and net loss provision Conduct in-depth data analyses to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions Partner with Risk and Finance teams on cross-agency strategic projects by driving key analytics to inform business decisions Drive awareness of data/insights/market/portfolio developments across organizations and proactively identify opportunities for analyses Provide thought leadership on initiatives across the Global Risk Finance organization to help American Express meet its long-term growth targets Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure the company's risk management strategies are aligned with best practices Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A deep understanding of risk management principles, including credit risk, fraud risk, and regulatory requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insights that inform business decisions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders A strong understanding of data analysis and modeling techniques, including experience with tools such as Excel, SQL, and statistical software A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, economics, or computer science At least 3 years of experience in a risk management or data analysis role, preferably in the financial services industry Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: An advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as a master's or Ph. D. Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques, including tools such as Python, R, or TensorFlow Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, including experience with tools such as AWS or Azure Experience with data visualization tools, including experience with tools such as Tableau or Power BI Professional certifications, such as FRM, CFA, or CPA Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills, including experience with data analysis and modeling techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insights that inform business decisions Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, including risk, finance, and business teams Career Growth Opportunities At American Express, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
