With a strong focus on employee development and well-being, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, paid training opportunities, and a supportive work environment that fosters growth and success. **Job Summary** As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at New Communities, you will play a vital role in providing direct care support to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Your primary responsibilities will include: * Acting as a role model and providing guidance and support to clients * Administering medication and assisting with personal care * Encouraging clients to be as independent as possible, both at home and in the community * Attending and actively promoting recreational, social outings, and activities for our clients * Providing transportation for clients using New Communities company vehicles **Key Responsibilities** * Provide direct care support to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism, including assistance with personal care, medication administration, and daily living activities * Act as a role model and provide guidance and support to clients to promote independence and self-advocacy * Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each client * Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support * Participate in recreational, social outings, and activities for clients, including transportation using New Communities company vehicles * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client care and services provided **Essential Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent required * 18 years of age or older * Active driver's license * Experience in direct care preferred, but not required (willing to train) * Ability to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English **Preferred Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, special education) * Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism * Certification in direct care or a related field (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration) **Skills and Competencies** * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively in a team environment * Compassion, empathy, and understanding of the needs of adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism * Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems * Ability to lift, bend, and move clients as needed * Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** * Paid training opportunities and certifications * Tuition reimbursement up to $2000/year * Opportunities for professional development and advancement * Collaborative and supportive work environment * Recognition and rewards for outstanding performance and contributions **Work Environment and Company Culture** * Flexible, hybrid remote arrangement for this position * Competitive salary and benefits package * Comprehensive health insurance with 3 plans to choose from, including Health Savings Account options with company contribution * Dental and Vision insurance * Paid time off - Up to 15 days off per year for full-time employee * 403(b) Retirement Plan with 5% company match * Wellness program including fitness reimbursement * Birthday bonus * Making a difference in the lives of others! **How to Apply** If you are a motivated and compassionate individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
