Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the estimation, negotiation, and settlement of contractual trade orders throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will have a strong background in estimating and cost control, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. This is a hybrid remote role, offering the flexibility to balance your time between our office and home, and a competitive salary of $31-$40 per hour. Key Responsibilities Estimate all quantities of sophisticated, highly included tasks, such as resorts, theme park attractions, and cruise ships, including site work, facilities, show factors, rides, interior fit-out, staffing, escalation, contingency, and more Independently produce conceptual estimates of projects with incomplete or ambiguous information, with minimum supervision Lead the estimating, negotiating, and settling of contractual trade orders throughout the project, collaborating with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors Evaluate and estimate project costs through specs and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, and determine the scope of labor and required estimate contents Collaborate with design teams and project groups to provide cost guidance, cost engineering, and options, and offer value records, analysis, and scenario planning Check estimates for reasonableness based on comparable/equal historical experience, and provide cost management throughout the entire lifecycle of a project Quantify risks, develop mitigation plans, and forecast the entire project envisioned final cost (EFC) with the project team and divisions, and reconcile with senior management Effectively adapt complex financial and estimating information to audiences of varying levels, and work with team leadership to develop project strategies, risk mitigations, and recovery/acceleration plans Perform comprehensive risk exams on projects and issues, and recommend action plans to optimize success Serve as a mentor to less experienced estimating personnel, and act as a subject matter expert (SME) relative to production, estimating, cost control, and risk analysis Essential Qualifications Minimum 4 years of estimating and/or cost control experience, with a desire towards experience with projects of high complexity and growing expert responsibility Ability to clarify conflicts effectively, and demonstrated decision-making and relationship-building capability Confident presenter who can adapt to their target audience and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally Four-year degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, quantity surveying, business, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience Preferred Qualifications Understanding specific to the hospitality or themed entertainment industry Experience working on complex construction projects, such as resorts, theme park attractions, and cruise ships Knowledge of cost control systems, estimating software, and project management tools Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Estimating and cost control: ability to estimate costs, quantify risks, and develop mitigation plans Communication and presentation: ability to communicate complex financial and estimating information to audiences of varying levels Collaboration and teamwork: ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including design teams, project groups, and senior management Problem-solving and analysis: ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and develop action plans Leadership and mentoring: ability to mentor less experienced estimating personnel, and act as a subject matter expert (SME) relative to production, estimating, cost control, and risk analysis Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Disney, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees, and we offer a range of career growth opportunities and learning benefits, including: Professional development: opportunities to develop new skills, and advance your career through training, mentorship, and education Cross-functional collaboration: opportunities to work with different teams, and develop a deeper understanding of our business and operations Networking opportunities: opportunities to connect with other professionals, and build relationships that can help you grow your career Work Environment and Company Culture At Disney, we are proud of our company culture, which is built on a foundation of innovation, quality, and community.
