Job Summary We're seeking an experienced and highly skilled Controls Technician to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. As a Controls Technician - Night Shift, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment controls, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and implementing system improvements to optimize throughput, yield, and product performance. Key Responsibilities Implement, test, and maintain all manufacturing equipment controls, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. Perform timely and cost-effective maintenance of equipment, troubleshooting day-to-day manufacturing issues, and identifying opportunities for system improvements. Assist in the installation and qualification of new manufacturing equipment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control problems for all manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Test and validate new controls established or designated by the Controls Department, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations. Download new software changes/upgrades specified by the Controls Department, and maintain current software databases for Base Plant. Assist the IT Department with the setup, installation, and testing of communication devices for PLCs. Identify, research, and present solutions to control problems and continuous improvement projects, driving innovation and efficiency. Document and follow up on problems relating to controls, ensuring effective communication and resolution. Provide written documentation for indication of proper testing on all projects submitted from the Controls Department. Assist new equipment commissioning technicians to verify that their testing of control systems is done correctly and efficiently completed. Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on production equipment, developing and implementing new electrical preventative maintenance tasks, procedures, and schedules. Troubleshoot robotic, electrical, and mechanical systems, utilizing expertise and resources to resolve complex technical issues. Requirements and Qualifications Education and Experience 3-7 years of electrical, electronic, or controls experience, with a strong foundation in electrical, robotics, or electronic engineering. Associate Degree in Electrical, Robotics, or Electronic Engineering (preferred). If no degree, 5+ years of verifiable experience in a related field (e.g., semiconductors, automotive) is required. Journeyman's Card from an accredited apprenticeship program (preferred). Required Skills and Competencies Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and set priorities effectively. Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and Maximo reporting and parts search. Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving on the manufacturing line, with a strong understanding of robotics, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and vacuum systems. Ability to read prints and suggest modifications as required, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Climb stairs on an occasional basis. Exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, push, or pull on a seldom basis. Lift, push, or pull up to 27 pounds on a frequent basis. Lift up to 51 pounds on an occasional basis. Use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis. Have 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction.
