We are seeking an experienced and motivated intern to join our team at Girl Up USA, a program of the United Nations Foundation. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to the development of programs and initiatives that support girls' leadership and empowerment. **About Girl Up USA** Girl Up USA is a girl-centered leadership development initiative that operates within the United Nations Foundation. Our programs and initiatives focus on leadership development, advocacy, and community engagement, with a particular emphasis on supporting girls and women from underrepresented communities. **About the Internship** As an intern with Girl Up USA, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and initiatives, including: * Supporting the development of programs and events that promote girls' leadership and empowerment * Assisting with communications and social media efforts to promote Girl Up USA's mission and initiatives * Collaborating with the Girl Up USA team to develop and implement strategies for engaging with girls and women from underrepresented communities * Providing administrative support to the Girl Up USA team, including data entry, research, and other tasks as needed **Responsibilities** * Support the Girl Up USA team to accomplish goals determined by its youth leaders and Girl Up USA Director * Assist Girl Up's Graphic Designer in creating, designing, and applying graphics across Girl Up USA print resources and digital platforms as needed * Assist in the preparation and execution of Girl Up USA events, ranging from small group meetings to multi-day conferences * Assist with creation of program communication to Girl Up members, including Clubs, Coalition Leaders, and Teen Advisors * Brainstorm creative ideas for Girl Up USA's social platforms, virtual event branding, and merchandise design * Assist with updating Girl Up USA community platform as needed * Assist in template document and resource creation (i.e. presentation decks, one-pagers) * Advocate and contribute a unique perspective on issues girls 13-24 are facing currently * Take quality notes and be able to translate team directives into completed projects * Assist in video production design as needed * Support additional projects and tasks as needed **Requirements** * Enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university * Communication, Graphic Design, Programs, and Political Science degrees preferred * Experience organizing 100+ people for action * Experience designing for digital platforms and web are preferred (Adobe Creative Suit, Canva) * Asana experience a plus * Strong oral and written communications skills * Some video editing experience preferred * Commitment to cross-cultural communication * Be responsible, flexible, hard-working, and committed to the mission of Girl Up * Fun, friendly, and collaborative * Excellent creative vision, attention to detail, and ability to think outside the box **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience working with girls and women from underrepresented communities * Familiarity with social media platforms and online engagement strategies * Experience with graphic design and video production * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong communication and interpersonal skills **What We Offer** * Opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the development of programs and initiatives that support girls' leadership and empowerment * Professional development and training opportunities * Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options * Competitive stipend or hourly wage * Opportunity to network with professionals in the field of girls' leadership and empowerment **How to Apply** If you are passionate about empowering girls and women to become leaders in their communities, we encourage you to apply for this internship.
