About the Role We're looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer - Data Analytics to design, build, and operationalize data pipelines that drive business insights and inform strategic decisions. As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you'll work closely with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and Business Intelligence (BI) Architects to develop scalable data models and pipelines. Your expertise will help us unlock the full potential of our data, enabling us to make data-driven decisions and drive business growth. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and operationalize data pipelines to make data accessible for utilization (reports and advanced analysis) Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and BI Architects to plan and maintain scalable data models and pipelines Develop and implement ETL/ELT processes using Informatica Cloud (IICS) Utilize cloud services such as Azure SQL DW, ADLS, Azure Event Hub, and Azure Data Factory to improve and accelerate the delivery of data products and services Work with large, complex datasets to meet business requirements Partner with data owners to align on data engineering requirements Create and maintain up-to-date data pipeline designs Identify, plan, and implement process improvements, automating manual processes and streamlining data delivery Implement big data and NoSQL solutions by developing scalable data processing platforms to drive high-value insights Support the development of Data Dictionaries and Data Taxonomy for product solutions Demonstrate a strong understanding of coding and programming concepts to build data pipelines (data transformation, data quality, data integration, etc.) Build data models with Data Architects and create data pipelines to store data in defined data models and designs Show a strong understanding of data integration techniques and tools (ETL/ELT) and database design Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality of data management Lead ad-hoc data recovery for business reports and dashboards Review the integrity of data from various sources Manage database design, including installing and updating software, and maintaining relevant documentation Monitor database movement and resource utilization Perform peer review for another Data Engineer's work Requirements 3+ years of experience designing and operationalizing data pipelines with large and complex datasets 3+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica IICS 3+ years of experience with Data Modeling, ETL, and Data Warehousing 3+ years of experience working with Cloud technologies, such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Databricks Live Table, and other big data technologies Broad experience working with various data sources (SQL, Oracle database, flat files, Web API, XML) Advanced SQL skills and a strong understanding of relational databases and business intelligence Solid understanding of database storage concepts (data lake, relational databases, NoSQL, Graph, data warehousing) Ability to work in a fast-paced agile development environment Flexible scheduling to address business needs, including weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on-call rotations Preferred Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent software/services experience Azure Certifications Experience implementing data integration strategies, such as event/message-based integration (Kafka, Azure Event Hub), ETL Experience with Git/Azure DevOps Experience delivering data solutions through agile software development methodologies Familiarity with the retail industry Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience working with SAP integration tools, including Bodies Experience with UC4 Job Scheduler What We Offer As a Data Engineer at Costco, you'll enjoy: Competitive salary: $26/hour Comprehensive benefits package Opportunities for career growth and professional development Collaborative and dynamic work environment Flexible work arrangements, including remote work options Recognition and rewards for outstanding performance Why Join Costco?
