Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Patient Care Aide to join our team at Aetna in Virginia Beach. As a Patient Care Aide, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing top-notch patient care and contributing to the success of our team. This is a full-time remote position, offering a competitive salary of $27-$35 per hour and comprehensive benefits. Key Responsibilities Room patients, including taking vital signs and documenting demographics, insurance, medical history, medications, allergies, place of care test results, and vaccines in the electronic clinical record system (EPIC) Perform point-of-care testing for strep, flu, COVID-19, urine pregnancy, and other tests depending on MinuteClinic scope of practice Assist with managing patients in the waiting area and setting expectations for wait times Aid with patient registration and answer questions about MinuteClinic services Act as a chaperone if a patient or provider in the primary exam room requests one Work in an enhanced capacity to drive critical clinical and operational efficiencies at the practice level Work under the supervision of a MinuteClinic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, performing additional clinical services Provide clinical patient care within state guidelines Facility Environment As a Patient Care Aide, you will be responsible for maintaining facility rooms and waiting areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and prepared for patient care. You will also perform administrative tasks, such as inventory management, patient callbacks, equipment cleaning, document management, and compliance tasks. Additional Responsibilities In this role, you will be required to complete a MinuteClinic certification process for immunization administration in states permitted within the scope of practice. You will also be expected to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, work independently, and show drive, problem-solving skills, flexibility, and adaptability. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements: Recent past healthcare experience or recent completion of a program, such as CNA, MA, EMT, PCT, Pharmacy Technician, Nursing Student who has completed fundamentals with clinical component, military medic program, medical student Knowledge of medical terminology Excellent customer service skills with a desire to provide empathetic, high-quality patient care Shows effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently Shows drive, problem-solving skills, flexibility, and adaptability Ability to take and pass a FIT test with the respirators that MinuteClinic provides, and to wear the provided respirator mask when protocol requires Licensure/Certifications You will need to have a Basic Life Support certification from the American Red Cross or an approved and accredited provider. Please note that this job may not meet recertification requirements for certain certifications. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience and knowledge of an Electronic Clinical Record, such as EPIC Education A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role.
