Job Summary As a Part-Time Statistics Analyst I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of sports data across ESPN's platforms. You will work closely with the Data and Information team to analyze and interpret sports data, identify trends and patterns, and provide insights to help drive storytelling and content creation. This is a part-time remote job opportunity that requires a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for sports. Key Responsibilities Guarantee the accuracy, timeliness, and insightfulness of sports data disseminated by the Data and Information team. Work individually and in teams to deliver accurate detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power a wide range of ESPN products and creations. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Data and Information team's role in fueling ESPN's digital products and television productions. Verify the accuracy of your own work and that of others, performing with a consistently high level of attention to detail. Contribute to the production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders who coordinate full- and part-time staff. Anticipate potential issues, both day-to-day and long-term, and propose possible solutions. Communicate quickly and clearly with colleagues on these issues. Play a proactive role in working with colleagues to develop or refine production processes. Be an active participant in team and department meetings. Seek and respond to feedback on your performance. Stay informed about current office policies and procedures. Essential Qualifications Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports. Full schedule availability, including evenings (only), weekends, and holidays. Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives ESPN's digital and television products. Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances. Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often in a fast-paced newsroom environment. Preferred Qualifications 1 year of experience working in sports or statistics, preferably in media. Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes. Working knowledge of ESPN products and creations. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products. Experience leading or training a team. Ability to speak and write Spanish. Experience using social media in a business or news environment. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degree or equivalent preferred.
