About the Role Are you passionate about empowering students to achieve their personal health and academic goals? Do you have a strong interest in health and wellness issues facing college students? We are seeking an experienced and motivated Evening/Weekend Educator I to join our team at the University of North Dakota's Wellness Center. As a part-time, non-benefited position, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students while developing valuable skills and expertise in health education and promotion. Job Summary The Evening/Weekend Educator I will engage with UND students through presentations, programs, and outreach initiatives to support students in reaching their personal health and academic goals. This role involves planning, implementing, and assessing health & wellness programs and outreach activities that educate students on a variety of health topics. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to develop and deliver engaging health education programs that meet the diverse needs of our students. Key Responsibilities * Develop and implement health and wellness programs and outreach activities that educate students on a variety of health topics, including but not limited to: + Nutrition and healthy eating + Stress management and mental health + Substance abuse prevention and education + Physical activity and exercise + Sleep and relaxation techniques * Facilitate presentations and workshops for fellow students throughout campus, including the residence halls, Greek community, University Life classes, and other settings * Participate in all staff trainings prior to the start of classes to ensure a comprehensive understanding of health education principles and best practices * Collaborate with other Wellness Center staff members to develop and implement health education programs and services that meet the diverse needs of our students * Evaluate the effectiveness of health education programs and services, and make recommendations for improvement * Stay up-to-date on current health trends and issues affecting college students, and incorporate this knowledge into program development and delivery Essential Qualifications * Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit for the employed academic semester * Strong interest in health and wellness issues facing college students * Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite * Ability to work evening and weekend hours, including some flexibility to accommodate student schedules * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds * Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team * Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications * Experience working in health education or a related field * Knowledge of health education principles and best practices * Experience developing and implementing health education programs and services * Familiarity with health promotion theories and models * Strong understanding of the social determinants of health and their impact on college students * Experience working with diverse populations, including students from underrepresented groups Skills and Competencies * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines * Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills * Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team * Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As an Evening/Weekend Educator I, you will have the opportunity to develop valuable skills and expertise in health education and promotion.
